Melaka

Day trip to Melaka:

(Malacca=Asshole in greek.. You think Parameswara knows greek when he saw the mouse deer kicking the dog into the river?)

Objective: Food and historical monuments. Obviously spending time with her as well.

Huge note! Not to go there on a Monday. Failed to get satay celup as all of them, I MEANT ALL 3 of them that we seek for were closed! Hainanese Coffee shop chose to rest for the week just so when we were there. Nyonya shop was close as well.. -_-

Departed from Subang at 0730. Being a typical me, had nothing planned in mind, no idea whatsoever what to do and where to go. This Girl had everything planned out instead.

My personal planner =)

Destination reached at 1000 with occasiona rest stops and a map purchase.

First food on the list: Duck noodles.

Rm2.50 per bowl. Extra eggs and tofu is about a RM1-2 couldn't remember. Rating: 7/10 Prices are awesomely low tho.

Decided to head for coffee but to find it closed as well.

Next stop, the A Famosa. Where we monkeyed around and She got her shoppings done in Jonker. The place where we were supposed to go for Nyonya food but failed as Donald and Lily's were closed as well.

Walked around with a map in hand looking for the satay celup to find it closed, too. Found a place for nyonya cendol.

Rating 6/10. Like their deco in the shop, display of antique beer and spirit bottles. Nicely done. Met a British couple who suffered from heat stroke and came in for some beer there. It was their last few days there in Malaysia and they would be heading back to the UK just a day after my flight. Couldn't remember where they were from though.

Apparently the husband of the lady who was mending the stall was a Masters student from Sheffield. Had a bit of a chat and found out both she and her husband were retired teachers.. Heh.

Headed for Taiwanese noodle after all the walking. Drove around Melaka so much during the process of locating the place, we had practically went around the whole state within a day.

Ratings: 6/10 Nothing to shout about. Slow service. And there's one in Klang Valley..

As we failed to locate a beach with nice sunset as the place had been taken over by construction companies, headed for dinner.

Got some "lou po peng" from the only place that sells em in Mahkota parade and looked for dinner. It was the place called Coffee art cafe that served the best meal outta the whole day. Laksa that finally tasted like real food!

Rating: 9/10. With 13 coffee styles based on the 13 states of Malaysia, this place is probably the best for caffeine junkies. Had some ice blended mocha kiss that weren't in the menu. Crushed coffee bits placed in the ice blended drink. Thick and rich in coffee taste. Pretty alright for people like me, who's taste buds are pretty much destroyed by the heavy coffee intake.

Except for the company, the whole trip was pretty disappointing really.. But, the company is what that really counts after all =)

Just missing those days..
