The Freaking Long Wordy Update.

Hey Hey people! Pardon the long absent. Got back to Malaysia and had been trying to update myself on the things happening in the actual world. To highlight a few, I nearly missed my flight back to Malaysia due to a mix up on train schedules on the 11th June. Got on one heading to Newcastle instead. Which as traveling the opposite direction from Manchester Airport. Long story short, I had to run with 22kgs in hand from the train station to the terminal in Manchester. I've lost my wallet after the Megadeth mosh pit. A lump sum of cash in 3 different currency and all forms of identifications was lost. Damn you pick pockets! Spend the money wisely in Hell! However, Download Festival ROCKS! Dream Theater are freaking awesome legends! Got to catch these legends live 2 rows from the front, 2 rows from the front! That 3 hours wait there was worth it!

Note to all people traveling via transit flights. Buy your duty free liquid products in KLIA itself as the Malaysian flights now have this policy on liquid items on planes too. If you carry any liquid products, they are to be checked in at the transiting location regardless if it is duty free or not. Mine was forced to be checked in before boarding and my goods did not turn up on the conveyor belt. KLIA claimed that they were not checked in from Dubai and was told to make a report and Emirates will take care of them. Got me waiting in that bloody inefficient little "lost and found" room with other fellow inpatient and queue cutting Malaysians for ages and was told that they found all our goods in the aircraft later on. Conclusion, buy it as you reach Malaysia or get it in UK itself else risk the chances of waiting for hours and getting your parents who are waiting at the arrival hall a panic strike.

Right. With connection speed like this, it will take ages for me to load my usual amount of pictures. The blog will probably go picture less for the next few months.. Cravings had been satisfied within the first week that I had been here. Satisfaction beyond any form of verbal description. Syok! Had not been getting proper night sleeps ever since I got back but who's complaining? Time spent on the Girlfriend, the nocturnal friends and family are all worth that few hours of less sleep. Sleeping is considered a waste of precious quality time now man! To those who ever wondered what happened to the absence in Msn and internet related activities, it's because I had been trying to spend time with the people around, obviously.. The Girl had just finished her exams and has only a few weeks of holidays. Please do understand how much I had been missing her. Yes girl, YOU! =P

Now, for some automotive updates! California cops came up with a plan to crush dreams and hearts of street racers. Illegal street racing cars are to be crushed in front of their owners when they are caught. Details of them Here and a video Here. Word to describe:"OUCH!" Painfully done.. Sorry, mates. And that just reminded me that MyWife is under no running condition yet. An battery swap and an oil change awaits with a few more DIY projects in mind. Updates will come soon! Till then, Have a nice summer vacation people! Super GT in 7 hours time!

PS: Get me on 016-9490088. The old number got terminated, unfortunately..

Surprise surprise! From Autoblog.com The Smartinor from THALON Design. This is what you get when you cross the Eleanor* with a smart for 2.. I just find it funny that its written there GT50%. Heck, anything cracks me up right now. Heheh.

*Eleanor: A name given to the 1973 Ford Mach 1 coupe in the movie "Gone in 60 seconds". Remake of the film in year 2000 used a modified Ford Shelby GT500.

Manufacturing Technology is misleading

This was in the notes on Adhesive bonding strength:

Single Lap joint: Good (some cleavage)

Double Lap joint: Very Good

Concentric Tube (shaft and tube) : Excellent
[with a picture showing a tube and a shaft rotating both sides and moving in and out]

............ *sigh*

Judging by the stage I'm in for the special MCQ paper tomorrow, I've even recreated the tool that I had utilised ever since Primary school. The tool that had then accompanied me throughout my whole academic life. The tool to seek for when I need an answer. The tool that I call, The DICE:

I am so ready for the paper tomorrow..

PS: If you're wondering why didn't I just post the picture of the adhesive bonding thing up, its because I've packed my books and notes into the box already. Got to move out of this place before 10am on 9th of the month. Since I'm heading for Download Festival on the 7th night, I've got to pack earlier than the rest of the guys. Never knew I had accumulated so much junk in my room.

Minis

People do crazy things with minis these days.. Came across this in Cardomain.com:

According to the guy in cardomain, it was found in 1961 in a ski village at Perisher Valley, Australia. Cute little thing ain't it? Heh.

FU-YOH!

Was chatting with my mother the other day and use the word "fuyyoohh" as usual. And got told that Digi prepaid used "FU-YOH!" as one of their catch phrase. Checked them out minutes ago and just couldn't stop laughing as soon as the page loaded. Funky! check em out here: FU-YOH! "Fu-yoh" factor everywhere. That bloody hand and their layout is so damn distracting. Anyone care to explain what is this Fu-Yoh thing about? Am always too busy laughing whenever I open that page and couldn't figure out what is it about. Am gonna need a line as soon as i get back. Digi for some obvious reasons. Heh.

Subtitles

Was watching Top Gear (yeah, again) the other day and I was given some subtitles that appears to be like French. Nothing special about that, well, after all even if they can't build cars, they still deserve the rights to watch Top Gear.

Just after that I opened up the Best Motoring file and stared at this bunch of Japanese for half an hour with no idea on whatsoever they were talking about. Heck! Where are the bloody subtitles now when you need them?! Damn, I need to learn Japanese..

Now, the McLaren Mercedes SLR 722.. Never really liked it despite the fact that I drool over most SLR's. It's the boy racer bits in it that spoiled the car's elegance and made it looked like the Queen of England dressed up like Avril Lavigne. It's those smoked headlights, that carbon fiber lip that doesn't fit and that colour that couldn't decide if it wants to be grey or silver. There's just some sort of "bug" in it that made me hate that car. Little bits that are there, but just couldn't tell exactly what they are.

Until this came along..The Satin Black SLR 722. The colour just somewhat gobbled up all the bugs. The smoked headlights now fit perfectly, that carbon fiber lip blended into the car, and that Tristar logo shines once again, showing that this car means business. It made it looked like a car that will cast fear upon the streets. A car that people will run for cover upon seeing. A stealth bomber, on wheels.

Mind you not all cars fits that colour. An example is the Hamann F430:
This shows that not all aftermarket kits improves the car. Keep in mind those with ultra big spoilers on the back, in front, and by the side of their car. Those with racing stripes and stickers that contradict each other saying Mugen, MMC, MIVEC and V-TEC at the same time. Not everything aftermarket is good, mind you. Those saying it's your car and your money, you're right. It IS your car. It IS your money. And it is also an incentive for me to call you a dumbass.

Rock Festival in The Ring

Was surprised when I was tents set up at the entrance of the Nurburgring. Apparently there's a rock festival going on in the Ring for the next coming days. Similar to the Download festival, they've got rockers lined up for 3 days, metal heads are allowed to camp within the Ring and worship their favourite bands for these 3 days.

Had a glance of the line up and I must say these people are sad.. I thought the line up for download festival was bad already with Dream Theater back down on the second stage and freaking Linkin Park and bloody hell emoish My Chemical Romance is up on the first stage opening. These people lined LP and Good Charlotte on the first stage, with slayer back down on second stage, Megadeth on the Third. What happened to real rock being on first stages and emo pieces of craps down on third? Sad world..

PS: Was reading the rules behind the Download Festival tickets and this got me laughing.
"WARNING - prolonged exposure to loud noise may cause damage to your hearing"
A warning from a rock festival. Ironic.

Automotive update:
M3 meets M DCT

Standard M3's now comes with an option of the 6-speed manual transmission or the M DCT, a 7-speed paddle shift dual clutch transmission made by GETRAG. Similar to the SMG in the M5 and M6, only faster. It is expected to push the M3's already impressive 0-100km/h time from 4.8s to below 4.5s. The Germans went nuts. Possibly due to the odd music they listen to..
